Well-known singer and songwriter Mickey Harte is set to re-release his top hit ‘Sound
of the Summer’ with an accompanying new music video.
The video will be released both as online and physically, featuring the bonus track
and brand new song "2thousand10", which Mickey has been performing to much acclaim
with his band ‘The Enemies’. The song is a co-writing and production venture with
Harte's long time friend and engineer Terry Mc Ginty and well known Dublin based
producer Billy Farrell of ‘The Corrs’ and ‘Westlife’ fame.
Explaining the decision to film a video, Mickey said it was suggested by two Chicago-based
DJs while he was performing an acoustic version of the song on KAT's 105.5 breakfast
show, during a tour of the area. “That song deserves a video,” they suggested, and
it was one Mickey literally took to heart (pardon the pun).
"They sowed the seed and I kept it with me for the rest of the tour," says Mickey.
The video was produced by Ciaran and Dhamodar Productions, a production team based
in the North.
The inspiration for ‘Sound of the Summer’ came when Mickey first watched the documentary
"Beautiful Dreamer" - a feature on the life and music of tortured Beach Boys genius
Brian Wilson. The song lyrics suggest that the only place Wilson could find true
solace was when working on his music and creating the proverbial sound of the summer
for us all...
A launch to celebrate the release of the video and single will take
place in Dicey's beer garden, Russell court Hotel, Harcourt St, D2. @ 9pm. ********
